In Facebook post on Monday, director, actor and singer Nischal Basnet satirized the announcement of Kathmandu Mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya to develop Kathmandu as a model city after he assumes his office and works that he would do within 100 days. In an open letter to the Kathmandu Mayor, he wrote:
Dear Kathmandu Mayor
Nowadays, I am really feeling difference in my Kathmandu. There are no risks of falling in potholes while walking on the roads, there is no stinking waste, neither there are houses demolished by the earthquake nor is affliction of those displaced by the earthquake.
There is no problem of traffic jams and no fear of being sick by dust. Everywhere I go, I see happiness and I remember you 100-day promises time and again. That’s why I am sleeping carefree. So, I am looking after the design of embossed number plates in my smartphone as you are there. Please make sure that I would be able to see your photos of carrying brooms and cutting ribbons as inaugurations.
The same lazy citizen of your smart city.
